“Local Gender Equality Monitoring” training was carried out in Ankara with the participation of 47 specialist personnel from 12 provinces.

With the aim of facilitating the monitoring of Local Equality Action Plans and related indicators as well as strengthening local capacity in terms of identification and follow-up of required indicators to reflect the change and progress, a workshop on Monitoring Gender Sensitive Data and Gender Equality at Local Level was organized on 10th -11th -12th of December 2013 in Ankara. The training was conducted with the support of Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV).

Within the scope of this workshop, local and national indicators of gender equality, issues to be considered while setting and monitoring indicators, description of gender sensitive data and data collection methods, monitoring and evaluation of Local Equality Plans issues were covered.

Representatives from Equality Units of Municipalities / Governorships, Representatives from Equality Unit of Development Agencies and other related personnel from 12 provinces participated in the workshop. “Gender Sensitive Data Guide” that summarizes the workshop will be published and distributed to the provinces within the year 2014.
