The 25 municipalities participating in Phase 3 of the Women-Friendly Cities Programme are pioneering a participatory and inclusive local governance approach based on equality between women and men.

 

These municipalities are contributing to social transformation not only in their own provinces but across all of Türkiye. Municipalities participating in the programme commit to establishing Local Equality Mechanisms, preparing and implementing Local Equality Action Plans, and strengthening co-planning and governance in local decision-making processes by developing inclusive, participatory, and multi-stakeholder collaborations with civil society organizations.
